ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Caty Paul—a multimedia artist from Boulder, Colorado, and someone who’s been glued to a glue stick since childhood. I studied Integrated Visual Studies at Colorado State University, where I managed to turn my creative chaos into a bachelor's degree. These days, I focus on making interactive art that sparks conversations, questions, and occasionally making people feel just the right amount of uncomfortable.

Art has always been my way of connecting with others. When I was six, I used to write and illustrate stories and mail them to soldiers overseas—because even then, I had a lot to say. This early creative spark set me on a path of curiosity that’s kept me chasing new ways to create ever since.

My creative process is deeply rooted in research. For me, a project begins with absorbing as much information possible. I’m an avid learner and genuinely value the perspectives of my peers—it’s not just helpful, it’s essential to how I grow as a person and artist. I often spend days gathering information and letting it shape how I approach the work. It helps me speak with more clarity, and honestly, it makes the whole process more exciting. I’m constantly evolving—always chasing new perspectives, new tools, and new ways to stretch myself. Whether I’m collaborating or experimenting solo, I’m in it for the long haul, and I can’t wait to see where it all leads next. My goal is simple: stay curious, make stuff, and keep inviting people along for the ride.
